Business Insurance

small business insurance

What is Insurance. Why do we need it?

Very simply insurance is the pooling of risk. Some risks have to be guarded against by law, such as injury to employees. Other risks, such as harm caused to the public by negligence can have financially disastrous consequences if the business is not covered by appropriate insurance. Think Insurance! (PDF 0.2mb)

A small business is exposed to exactly the same risks as larger companies but don't have the financial resources to deal effectively with a claim. The policies available for quote on this website are specifically designed to help a small business insure itself at highly competitive rates.

What else should I know?

The scale of compensation awards continues to rise as the UK becomes more like the US in the workings of its legal system. Businesses can't escape liability for their legal responsibilities, and the increased cost of court awards for damages, the increased cost of legal actions and the increased expectations of the public for justice make insurance against these liabilities a prudent decision.

An employer may find themselves liable for losses to persons and/or property, such as injury to the life, limb, health, or income of employees; or to tangible property such as buildings, equipment, and machinery. Additionally, liability can extend to the consequences of employee fraud, embezzlement or negligence.
